Lovely

I always think it's cute when the groom comes to the wedding flower meeting.
Leslie and Stephen were so fun to meet and talk to about their upcoming wedding.
They are a beautiful, young, classy, confident couple and they couldn't wait for the big day.
I loved the ideas Leslie sent me for her flowers...a little bit of a wild flower look, a tiny bit rustic, but simple and elegant at the same time. Our meeting took all of 20 minutes to confirm we were on the same page. I loved how they turned out and I think Leslie did too.

Congratulations Stephen and Leslie!
I hope your life together is as beautiful as you are.

For Leslie's bouquet I used white roses, seeded and naked eucalyptus, dusty miller, and lisianthus.

The bridesmaids had smaller versions of the bride's.
I wrapped the stems with some wired burlap for a touch of romantic charm.

.adorable.

Ashley is a hairdresser and one of her clients is my good friend. Ashley was talking with my friend about her upcoming wedding to Costi and mentioned she needed a florist. My friend told her about me, I got an email that day from Ashley and we met the next day.

Costi and Ashley have the cutest story. They met on a cruise ship, thanks to Ashley's mom, where Costi was the DJ. Costi is from Romania and they hit it off and decided to keep in touch after Ashley went home. For something like two years they had a (very) long distance relationship and then Ashley went to spend a few months in Romania. They got engaged and a short time later, Costi was headed for the U.S. Because of all the red tape that acquiring the proper visas entails, it made the most sense to have a quickly planned courthouse wedding. Even though it was not a traditional wedding, Ashley wanted it to be just as special and she had thought through all the details.

The wedding colors were yellow and gray.

I used baby's breath, yellow roses, white roses and white wax flowers for Ashley's bouquet.
I wrapped it in silver ribbon and used brooches from her grandmother who has passed away as embellishments and to add some sparkle.

Ashley looked absolutely beautiful!

She surprised her parents with a corsages and boutonniere.

They are just so cute!!
I love the vintage look that Ashley had.

Congratulations Costi and Ashley!
It was an honor to be part of your wedding day.
I wish you a blessed life together.

.soft romance.

I am so excited to post these photos from a wedding I did back in June for Andrew and Emily.
I knew from the moment I read Emily's first email to me that I wanted to work with her. Her writing was exuberant and joyful ... and made me think of gardens and poetry.
Meeting with she and Andrew in person, my suspicions were confirmed: Emily is a beautiful girl on the outside, but her beautiful, gracious spirit spills out and touches everyone around her making her even more lovely.  I wanted to create flowers for Emily that were a reflection of her spirit and she wanted a romantic, garden wedding that honored her family and friends.
She gave me lace from her mother's wedding dress and a locket that was her grandmother's to use on her bouquet. She had 7 bridesmaids, 4 flower girls, 2 ring bearers and a house party of 6 close friends. There are a lot of special people in Emily's life.

I could go on, but here are some of the gorgeous photos all by Katie Stoops Photography.
The wedding coordinators were A. Dominick Events,
the church was All Saints Church in Chevy Chase and the reception was at Old Anglers Inn.

Congratulations Andrew and Emily!
It was an honor to be part of this beautiful day.

A quick photo of some bouquets from yesterday's wedding.

Coral roses, pink spray roses, peach carnations, white hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus, dusty miller and salal.

.roses.

My last assignment for the Nicole's Classes Floral Arranging 101 was a bridal bouquet and matching boutonniere. I had a big wedding this past weekend and this bouquet and bout were made from leftover flowers.

I used pink aphrodite garden roses, majolica pink spray roses, pink astilbe, pink ranunculus and white snapdragons for the bride's bouquet.

I loved making this boutonniere because I absolutely love ranunculus. I added a sprig of baby eucalylptus and astilbe. It's so sweet!

I am so sad that the Floral Arranging 101 class is over. Chelsea was a great teacher - all of the video tutorials were so helpful and I feel more confident in my skills as a florist.

.glam.

Jenn wanted flowers that reflected a bit of vintage romance and glamour...like her vintage wedding gown which was gorgeous. She wanted a bit of sparkle.

Her bouquet was a mix of pale pink and cream roses with dusty miller accents.
I added some sparkle which you can see here.
Her flowers looked so beautiful with her champagne colored gown.

The bridesmaids carried simple bouquets of pink roses.
I loved that the flowers were simple, elegant and romantic.
And the ladies did look very glamorous.

Congratulations Phil and Jenn!

.winter elegance.

David and Melinda were married in December.
I loved working with Melinda. David was a surprise in her life and she hadn't
anticipated planning a wedding any time soon.
She was peaceful and calm all the while radiating a quiet joy.
She wanted flowers that were muted and elegant and we agreed it would be fun
to include succulents since David is from Texas.
I loved the geometrical element they added to her bouquet
as well as the silver accent they provided against the creams and soft pinks.

Melinda looked absolutely beautiful!

I used cream hydrangea, lisianthus, pale pink roses, pale peach roses, silver brunia
berries, dusty miller and eucalyptus.

Work that camera, girl!

David looked quite dapper himself.
I used white lisianthus, brunia berries and dusty miller for the boutonnieres.

The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of Melinda's flowers.

David and Melinda, I am so happy that love found the two of you!
I wish you all the best and thank you for allowing me to be part of your day.

.modern.

Megan's vision for her late May wedding
had clean lines, crisp colors and classy style.
Black, white and lime green were her colors.

Doesn't she look gorgeous?!
The bridesmaids carried white roses, green hydrangea, green spider mums, and white lilies.
The bouquets looked fantastic with their black dresses.

Megan carried white roses, white hydrangea, white lilies, hypericum berries and salal leaves.
Her bouquet was wrapped in white satin ribbon with black lace.

The results were striking and everyone looked so beautiful.
Congratulations Michael and Megan!

.wintry beauty.

The night before Rachel and Nick's wedding
the forecast was predicting snow and ice for the following day.
I think everyone was a slightly nervous about how
that would affect the day's festivities.
Well it did snow a little bit, but not enough
to do anything but make the day extra magical.

Rachel carried a simple bouquet of red roses
wrapped in green ribbon.

The bridesmaids held white, long stem calla lilies also wrapped in green ribbon.
The contrast with the red dresses was gorgeous!

Rachel was a beautiful bride, wasn't she?

.happy.

Sarah was referred to me by Isabelle.
We didn't meet until the day of the wedding but
Sarah did a great job communicating to me what she
wanted and I was so excited to put her flowers together.
The colors she requested were blue and yellow.

Beautiful bride.

All of these photos are by Love,Asha Photography.

For Sarah's bouquet I used blue hydrangea, white and yellow roses and
blue delphinium along with salal leaves.

Sarah had a very small bridal party.
The matron of honor carried white flowers to compliment
her yellow dress and the flower girl carried white with
a touch of blue.
All of the bouquets were wrapped in royal blue satin ribbon.
Andy, the groom and his handsome little attendants wore yellow roses.

Sarah was so happy with the flowers when she saw them
which of course made me happy.
I was honored to play a part in making her wedding day more beautiful.
