Lovely

I always think it's cute when the groom comes to the wedding flower meeting.
Leslie and Stephen were so fun to meet and talk to about their upcoming wedding.
They are a beautiful, young, classy, confident couple and they couldn't wait for the big day.
I loved the ideas Leslie sent me for her flowers...a little bit of a wild flower look, a tiny bit rustic, but simple and elegant at the same time. Our meeting took all of 20 minutes to confirm we were on the same page. I loved how they turned out and I think Leslie did too.

Congratulations Stephen and Leslie!
I hope your life together is as beautiful as you are.

For Leslie's bouquet I used white roses, seeded and naked eucalyptus, dusty miller, and lisianthus.

The bridesmaids had smaller versions of the bride's.
I wrapped the stems with some wired burlap for a touch of romantic charm.

Simply Stunning

When I met with Leah, she definitely had some specific things in mind for her wedding.
The  colors were gray and a mustard-y yellow and there were certain flowers she did not prefer.
But she REALLY wanted yarrow.
I like it when a bride knows what she wants!

The bouquets that I created for Leah and her bridesmaids were a mix of white hydrangea,
white stocks, mini white callas, thistle, black pepper berries, dusty miller...
and of course the yellow yarrow. The contrast of colors and textures was so pretty!

The wedding was held at the Savage Mill and every detail was planned to perfection.
The color scheme was so right on
 - simple and elegant -
and everything (and everyone) looked gorgeous on the beautiful fall day!

Congratulations, Jorge and Leah!
I was so honored to be able to be part of your beautiful day.

.adorable.

Ashley is a hairdresser and one of her clients is my good friend. Ashley was talking with my friend about her upcoming wedding to Costi and mentioned she needed a florist. My friend told her about me, I got an email that day from Ashley and we met the next day.

Costi and Ashley have the cutest story. They met on a cruise ship, thanks to Ashley's mom, where Costi was the DJ. Costi is from Romania and they hit it off and decided to keep in touch after Ashley went home. For something like two years they had a (very) long distance relationship and then Ashley went to spend a few months in Romania. They got engaged and a short time later, Costi was headed for the U.S. Because of all the red tape that acquiring the proper visas entails, it made the most sense to have a quickly planned courthouse wedding. Even though it was not a traditional wedding, Ashley wanted it to be just as special and she had thought through all the details.

The wedding colors were yellow and gray.

I used baby's breath, yellow roses, white roses and white wax flowers for Ashley's bouquet.
I wrapped it in silver ribbon and used brooches from her grandmother who has passed away as embellishments and to add some sparkle.

Ashley looked absolutely beautiful!

She surprised her parents with a corsages and boutonniere.

They are just so cute!!
I love the vintage look that Ashley had.

Congratulations Costi and Ashley!
It was an honor to be part of your wedding day.
I wish you a blessed life together.

.soft romance.

I am so excited to post these photos from a wedding I did back in June for Andrew and Emily.
I knew from the moment I read Emily's first email to me that I wanted to work with her. Her writing was exuberant and joyful ... and made me think of gardens and poetry.
Meeting with she and Andrew in person, my suspicions were confirmed: Emily is a beautiful girl on the outside, but her beautiful, gracious spirit spills out and touches everyone around her making her even more lovely.  I wanted to create flowers for Emily that were a reflection of her spirit and she wanted a romantic, garden wedding that honored her family and friends.
She gave me lace from her mother's wedding dress and a locket that was her grandmother's to use on her bouquet. She had 7 bridesmaids, 4 flower girls, 2 ring bearers and a house party of 6 close friends. There are a lot of special people in Emily's life.

I could go on, but here are some of the gorgeous photos all by Katie Stoops Photography.
The wedding coordinators were A. Dominick Events,
the church was All Saints Church in Chevy Chase and the reception was at Old Anglers Inn.

Congratulations Andrew and Emily!
It was an honor to be part of this beautiful day.

Megan's vision for her late May wedding
had clean lines, crisp colors and classy style.
Black, white and lime green were her colors.

Doesn't she look gorgeous?!
The bridesmaids carried white roses, green hydrangea, green spider mums, and white lilies.
The bouquets looked fantastic with their black dresses.

Megan carried white roses, white hydrangea, white lilies, hypericum berries and salal leaves.
Her bouquet was wrapped in white satin ribbon with black lace.

The results were striking and everyone looked so beautiful.
Congratulations Michael and Megan!

.vineyard beauty.

Chet and Devon got married at the beautiful Sunset Hills Vineyard in Virginia.
Devon wanted something that was elegant but organic - not
stuffy or formal but consistent with the gorgeous natural surroundings.

For Devon's bouquet I used blue and green hydrangea, white lisianthus,
delphinium, dusty miller, wax flowers, salal leaves and a few willow branches.
She loved her flowers and I loved how they turned out too.

The five adorable flowers girls each had a wreath of lisianthus and wax flowers.

The bridesmaids carried white and green hydrangea, lisianthus, salal, dusty miller and willow tips.
They looked so beautiful against their teal J. Crew dresses.

For the ceremony, there were arrangments in mason jars with white hydrangea, white snapdragons,
queen anne's lace, delphinium, wax flowers and willow tips.

The ceremony arrangements were moved inside for the reception.

It was a gorgeous wedding and I was honored to be a part of it.

Chet and Devon, I wish you all the happiness in the world!

.wintry beauty.

The night before Rachel and Nick's wedding
the forecast was predicting snow and ice for the following day.
I think everyone was a slightly nervous about how
that would affect the day's festivities.
Well it did snow a little bit, but not enough
to do anything but make the day extra magical.

Rachel carried a simple bouquet of red roses
wrapped in green ribbon.

The bridesmaids held white, long stem calla lilies also wrapped in green ribbon.
The contrast with the red dresses was gorgeous!

Rachel was a beautiful bride, wasn't she?

springtime beauty

For this April wedding, the bride wanted the feel of cherry blossoms and early spring
with colors of red, white and pink.
At the reception, each table was named after a different type of flower
which was the centerpiece for the table.

The bride's bouquet was a mix of red roses and red tulips
with pink snapdragons, pink spray roses and white freesia for accent.

The bridesmaids carried white flowers: roses, lilies, and freesia
with the maid of honor having calla lilies and gerbera daisy
with a touch of pink and red for accent.

The altar arrangements were a mix of red gladiola, white and red roses and pink alstromeria.

Congratulations to the beautiful bride!
And thanks to my friend Jen for assisting me -she did a fabulous job.
