So I got into this wedding flower business thing kind of by accident. While I've always loved flowers (I remember cutting pictures of pretty flowers out of my Dad's seed catalogs to make flower books when I was a little girl), this is not something I had always planned to do. But, a few years ago, a friend of my sister was getting married and she asked me to do her flowers. I was surprised and honored and a little nervous, but it went so well and I had so much fun. Then word started to get around and before I knew it, more brides were contacting me for help with their flowers. And the rest, as they say, is history.
While I do not have any formal training as a florist, my background is in art and interior design and I've found that everything I've learned about design, color and composition can be applied in floral design as well. I love that I get to work with brides to create something beautiful for their special day. I love reflecting each bride's unique style in the flowers we choose and how they are put together. And I love it when I hear back from a bride that the flowers I put together were exactly what she wanted and more beautiful than she was imagining.
It is such an honor and a privilege to be part of the most sacred and beautiful day of a girl's life!
